Meet the Founder: Remul Johnson

Remul Johnson is a Liberian interior designer based in Philadelphia whose work bridges diaspora identity and contemporary design. After years of searching for interiors that authentically reflected African vibrancy without reducing it to trend, he founded Meyourge — a brand rooted in cultural permanence, not seasonal fashion.

His design philosophy merges ancestral craftsmanship with modern function, proving that African aesthetics are not a moment — they are timeless architecture of identity.

Where Heritage Meets Afro-Futurism

At the heart of Meyourge lies West African textile tradition particularly Ankara wax print. Though its migration traces through Indonesia and the Netherlands, it was African makers who transformed it into a language of identity, celebration, and resistance.

We honor that evolution. Our work does not replicate tradition it reinterprets it. Through bold color scaling, graphic rhythm, and modern application, we position African design confidently inside contemporary spaces.

This is Afro-futurism grounded in legacy.

Design That Calls You Home

Meyourge pieces are more than décor — they are portals. Whether layered into a contemporary loft or grounding a traditional home, our textiles invite conversation, memory, and identity into your space.

At the intersection of beauty and function, we design so that you are always yearning to return home.

With gratitude,
Remul Johnson
